What causes hair loss?

You can lose hair for many reasons, such as:

• Physical stress (illness and excessive exercise)
• Extreme emotional stress
• Fungal infections (ringworm)
• Hormonal imbalances (low estrogen and progesterone)
• Alopecia areata (an autoimmune disease) • Traction alopecia (tight braids and ponytails)
