Spinal Stenosis

Spinal stenosis is a degenerative spine disease in which the spinal canal becomes increasingly more narrow. This puts pressure on the spinal nerves and the spinal cord also.  There is lumbar spinal stenosis and cervical spinal stenosis – lumbar is the most common, affecting roughly 8-11% of the U.S. population, with cervical spinal stenosis occurring in about five percent of Americans. At Regenerative Sports, Spine & Spa we offer both pain management treatments as well as regenerative therapies to assist in healing and promote the growth of healthy new tissue while reducing joint and spinal tissue inflammation.

Managing Spinal Stenosis Pain

Today many people are wary and rightly concerned about relying on heavy pain medications, and the side effects that come with constant use. At Regenerative Sports, Spine & Spa we offer safe, non-surgical solutions to ease pain without pharmaceuticals. From long-lasting pain management options such as an epidural steroid injectionto facet joint injections and SI joint injections we can help you feel more comfortable long after pain medication wears off – lasting several months.

Promoting Healing with Regenerative Therapies

Beyond pain management, don’t think that spinal surgery is your only other option. New advancements in regenerative medicine are proving cellular therapies to be very effective at managing and treating spinal diseases such as spinal stenosis. Stem cells, PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma), exosome therapies are showing that it’s possible to replenish and replace cells damaged by disease or degenerative conditions, while promoting the growth of new, healthy tissue and reduce inflammation at a specific site in the spine – as well as other areas in the body.

Common Symptoms for Spinal Stenosis

In some cases, diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis can contribute to the development of spinal stenosis. And in some instances, the condition will reveal itself on an x-ray, but people experience little to no symptoms. Common symptoms of spinal stenosis include:

  • Weakness, tingling or numbness in the leg, foot arm or hand
  • Aching or pain in the neck or lower back
  • Leg cramps that may be relieved when leaning forward
